OFFER CARD THEATER
Automotive marketing was stuck in a formulaic rut: Every car commercial seemed to end with a five-second, rapid-fire “deal of the day.” We took this formula and turned it on its head. Knowing how critical the deal is to a car shopper’s decision-making, we created our own “Offer Card Theater” campaign, keeping the current offer up on screen for the entire thirty seconds while keeping viewers visually entertained at the same time. And just like that, a new kind of automotive advertising was born.
Social media was the source for a new campaign we developed for our client Toyota. We had discovered a trove of content posted on the SoCal Toyota Instagram account. Wonderful stories of Toyota owners who were sharing their passion for their Toyota cars, trucks and SUVs. Expressed not just in their own words but with stunning photos and videos of adventures they had taken. Which we in turn were thrilled to share with the world on multiple media platforms.

Whether we’re promoting Quarter Pounders or Shamrock Shakes, in the end, DE is selling McDonald’s. It’s burgers and fries. And seriously — what's more lighthearted than burgers and fries? So, okay, we dump the stale, headline-by-numbers approach and create messaging with personality that leans into shared experiences.

Historically, people thought of Smart & Final as a warehouse-style food and supply store, but today S&F is also catering to everyday shoppers looking to find everything on their family’s weekly shopping list. To engage with that consumer, our advertising features a store associate who’s friendly, knowledgeable and always willing to help. This personality aligns perfectly with the company’s mission to broaden its appeal to a new audience.
