Summary

The Associate Media Director, Planning (AMD) acts as the day-to-day liaison between the client and media team, demonstrating leadership in all areas of media with an emphasis on developing strategic direction for client accounts. The AMD provides media guidance to agency team(s) and clients, balancing client and company directives and overseeing the development of media goals, strategies and budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the day-to-day integrated media planning activities for assigned accounts
  • Provides agency team with client perspectives,insights, goals and strategies
  • Develops media approach and writes media plans that fulfill client marketing goals
  • Presents media plan to internal teams and clients
  • Allocates and oversees media budget, developing and/or managing cash flow and budget management documentation
  • Oversees input of broadcast/digital media goals and provides all other relevant planning-to-buying communication
  • Works with offline and online buying teams to monitor media goal compliance
  • Manages financial housekeeping via software systems and interface with agency accounting department

Qualifications

  • Understands industry, market and client business issues
  • Understands and applies knowledge of media landscape, trends, challenges and competitor presence to deliver a high quality planning product
  • Strong knowledge of offline media (TV, Radio,Print, OOH, etc.) including usage, measurement and buy performance tracking
  • Proficient understanding of online media (Display, Programmatic, Mobile, Search, Social, etc.) including usage, measurement and buy performance tracking
  • Solid understanding of research/planning resources and tools such as: Scarborough, Simmons, MRI, comScore, Kantar,TelMar
  • Stays abreast of industry knowledge to lead media ideation and innovation.
  • Prepare POVs as necessary
  • Strong writing and presentation skills
  • Superior organizational, interpersonal and managerial skills demonstrating attention to detail
  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • 5 – 7 years previous planning experience desired
  • Prior experience in managing a team
  • Multicultural and consumer engagement experience a plus
